Hokianga camp

Hokianga camp

WALT:  blog post about camp

Ahipara school year 5 and 6 camp went to Hokianga a place filled with stories and myths. We went for a hike around the wairere boulders first. Walking under the caves was the best part cause it felt like you were getting eaten by a shark. In the afternoon we had to sketch the beautiful beach by the lookout. The amazing view gave you a lot of options on what to sketch. The next day we went tobbogining on the biggest sand dunes I have ever seen. there were two tracks, I went on the small one, I wasn't ready for the massive one. I learnt that Tane Mahuta was the 4th tallest tree on the planet, It stands 56 meters tall and 5.5 meters wide. Hokianga is the coolest place I have ever been to and I look forward to going back.
